These chicks were hatched in Texas on 02112010 and sent priority mail to us, arriving Friday morning. We ordered 25 and Ideal Hatchery sent 28, all arriving in good health. These are Buff Cornish, adding to DH's Cornish flock. He already has Dark Cornish and White-Laced Red Cornish, and I have 2 Buff Orpingtons to provide a steady supply of eggs. All the Cornish are poor layers but great eating.
We will end up eating over half of these. All but one of the roosters will be food and likely some of the hens too. Depends on how much DH likes them when they grow up and whether he wants to interbreed with his other color varieties.
